Commercial EV Charging Station Installation
As electric vehicles (EV) become more commonly used, the need for more EV charging stations grows. Many commercial properties in California are investing in EV charging station installation for their employees and customers. There is a growing demand for charging stations, and DRYCO is here to help you meet that demand.
EV Charging Station Installation is Easy
DRYCO makes it easy to get EV charging stations installed on your commercial property. We will work with you from planning to installation. When partnering with DRYCO for charging stations for your business, you will be working with experts who will make this a painless process. This is the DRYCO process:
- A general contractor will connect you with an architect who specializes in installing EV charging stations to help you develop plans for your charging station. The plans are sent to DRYCO to bid on as a subcontractor.
- The GC will then subcontract an electrician to bid on the electrical and charging stations.
- Once that is done, DRYCO will perform trenching and underground work for the electrician. The electrician will then install the wiring conduit and give DRYCO the EV charging station mounting hardware.
- DRYCO uses our concrete services to install concrete pedestals and EV station mounting hardware. Then, we use our asphalt expertise to perform backfill and patch paving on the surrounding asphalt.
The electrician will then install the EV charging units. For the finishing touch, DRYCO will perform pavement striping to mark the new parking spaces for the EV stations.
What kind of commercial EV charging stations are there?
There are three levels of EV charging stations that vary based on the charge speed.
Level I EV Charging Stations
The Level I EV charging station is usually the most affordable option, but it is also the slowest EV charging station. They usually give cars enough of a charge for three to five miles of travel per hour. If you are planning to make your EV charging stations available to customers, this is likely not the best choice. However, if these are only available for employees to charge while at work or tenants in an apartment building, these can be a great choice.
Level II EV Charging Stations
The Level II charging station is the most common choice for a commercial property. They charge an electric car about five times faster than a Level I station. They use 208/240V and 30 amp electricity.
Level III EV Charging Stations
The Level III charging stations, also known as DC Fast Chargers, will give a car a charge of 80 – 400+ miles per hour. However, they are the most expensive charger, so they are not as commonly used as Level I and Level II. The Level III is usually only found at rest stops and car dealerships, where there are a lot of vehicles that need charging at a faster speed.
