Asphalt Project at Kiefer Landfill – Sacramento, CA

This multi-faceted asphalt paving and fencing project was designed to restore structural integrity and improve site safety across more than 245,000 square feet. DRYCO’s team began by fine grading, scarifying, and compacting the existing base material to create a stable foundation for paving.

We applied a tack coat before furnishing and compacting 6 inches of hot-mix asphalt pavement in multiple lifts, with an asphalt emulsion tack coat applied between each lift. Once the surface was completed, we installed all-new thermoplastic pavement markings, including 1,800 linear feet of 4-inch white lines and approximately 6,100 linear feet of double yellow striping, for clean traffic control and improved visibility.

The project also included utility work to uncover 10 buried manholes and excavation of existing baserock at two locations. To complete the scope, our fencing crew installed 1,350 linear feet of new 5-strand barbed wire cattle fence using durable metal t-posts, delivering function and containment for this unique job site.

Scope of Work Included:

  • Fine grading and compaction of 245,350 SF of base
  • Tack oil + 6″ hot-mix asphalt paving in lifts
  • Emulsion tack coat between lifts
  • Thermoplastic striping (white + double yellow)
  • Utility excavation and manhole uncovering
  • 5-strand barbed wire fence installation (1,350 LF)
