I had Dryco do my residential construction project which consisted of a 40-foot driveway and 40-foot sidewalk. The driveway also had a stairway constructed and due to the downward slope drainage was a major issue. The construction went off without a hitch. The stairway, driveway, and walkway were completed within the 4-day timeframe they stated during the quote. The driveway, walkway drainage has worked well during the past years' excessive rains. I applaud the professionalism and excellent work provided by DRYCO. I recommend this company for any commercial or large residential project you may have. Oh, the staff was very professional and responded promptly to any questions I had. Thank you!
I have worked with Dryco Construction over the last couple of years on paving/ concrete and fencing projects. Has been a pleasure to work with - very timely in their responses, great pricing and customer service!
These guys did a great job striping our floors. They were very professional, and worked hard the entire time they were here. I was very satisfied with the job they did, and was impressed at how well their customer service was. We pointed out some things, and they immediately fixed the issue. Overall definitely 5 starts. From the quoting process to the actual striping job, everything went smooth, and everyone I talked too was very friendly. If you have any striping/construction job, definitely go with this company, they are the best in my book.
DRYCO has always provided competitive pricing and quality production of work on all projects they have performed for us. I highly recommend them to anybody interested in a good commercial subcontractor.
Great Company! Highly recommend! DRYCO is the best paving company around

Variations in temperature cause pavement to expand and contract, and rain may cause the soil underneath to swell irregularly. All of this puts stress on the pavement, creating long cracks in a longitudinal (along the roadway) or transverse direction (across the roadway). These are quite common in California but can be kept in check through regular pavement maintenance. However, as the pavement ages, these cracks will appear with increasing density, forming large rectangular or square-shaped cracks. Known as block cracks, these cracks indicate that the pavement has lost its flexibility and may require major reconstruction depending on the severity of the problem.
Yes and no. The materials themselves cost about the same, but concrete is more expensive to pave with because it has to be laid down thicker (a minimum of 4 inches). Unlike concrete, asphalt is flexible and can be laid as thickly or thinly as you’d like. Long-term, however, asphalt is more expensive than concrete due to ongoing maintenance needs like sealcoating and regular repairs.
On average, asphalt will last about 30 years, but maintenance is everything. Regularly sealcoating asphalt on schedule (first application within 2-3 years; every 3-5 years after that) will allow the pavement to stay flexible for as long as possible by protecting the binder (liquid asphalt) that holds the pavement together. In addition, setting up a proper pavement maintenance plan will significantly extend the life of your asphalt.
Yes, sealcoating asphalt is very highly recommended! Neglecting sealcoating can lead to accelerated deterioration of the pavement. Without sealcoating, asphalt is more susceptible to damage from UV rays, oxidation, water infiltration, and chemical spills. This can result in cracks, potholes, and a significantly reduced pavement lifespan. In short – a misuse of your time and resources.
Sealcoating, on the other hand, acts as a protective barrier, shielding the binder (liquid asphalt) from these elements. It helps to prevent oxidation, seals small cracks, reduces water penetration, and enhances the overall appearance of the pavement. Regular sealcoating can extend the life of the asphalt surface by providing added durability and resilience.
For optimal results, it is recommended to apply sealcoating every 2 to 3 years. However, this can vary based on climate, traffic volume, and other environmental factors. Consulting with a professional pavement contractor will ensure a suitable sealcoating schedule tailored to your specific needs and conditions.
DRYCO always recommends two coats of sealer for double the wear.
Both oil-based and water-based sealcoatings have their own characteristics and considerations. Oil-based sealcoating contains coal tar or asphalt emulsion and offers superior resistance to oil and gasoline spills. It provides a dark black color and tends to be more durable. However, oil-based sealcoating emits volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and requires longer drying times.
Water-based sealcoating, on the other hand, utilizes acrylic or latex emulsions. It is eco-friendly, dries faster, and has lower VOC emissions. While it may not have the same level of resistance to oil and gasoline, water-based sealcoating is still effective in protecting against UV rays, water penetration, and minor cracks.
In California, due to environmental regulations and VOC restrictions, water-based sealcoating is often the preferred choice. It aligns with eco-friendly practices, complies with regulations, and still provides ample protection for asphalt surfaces. It is advisable to consult with local contractors to ensure the best sealcoating option based on specific project requirements and compliance with California regulations.
Technically, yes, but the preparation and application is more tedious, time consuming, and technical than you may think, especially for a large scale job like a parking lot.
